Yes indeed. Chips AFTER my race. Took me about an hour to be able to talk/breathe normally after the race last year.

Sounds like it was great fun. By definition both E and I were pikers I think.

I managed to do something minor but unfixable by me to my Shogun around lunchtime Saturday, while trying to get to Papergirl. I need a couple of new quicklinks.

When's the next dirt Audax?

Hmmmm........where were you and the piker???

Great ride, almost unexpected great weather and low local traffic. Moon was out and proud!!! All the roads were fabulous excepting the one section that had me worried, it didn't disappoint, black soil, shoulder high grass, 40cm deep wheel ruts, well wet and recently churned by the local lads in 4x4's.
Bikes just STOPPED, most were carried. Roadside sticks were gold, pedals never clipped in for the rest of the night.
Great range of velocipedes, basic hybrids to carbon roadies on 23's, Ti 29er S24O specials, rigid and full suss. mtb's.
Great fun!!!

I never really thought of the length of the single file riders being twice as long makes the passing time far greater. Car drivers won't see it that way though. I
t's the sight in front of the opportunity to pass if it's single.
When the group is two abreast they see this as a road block.
I find "blocking" is a safe maneuver in most cases for the riders though. Preferring to keep my life safe at the inconvenience and misinterpretation of the drivers behind. Always a wave of thanks if they've been patient.

Ha, I'm sure you could still beat me up Mt Gravatt when 8 mths pregnant. No, that's not a challenge.

I rarely, if ever (ok only special occasions!) use a Garmin, mainly for HR and efforts (so not at all at the moment!) and when I stopped worrying too much about numbers I got faster. You can go sub 6min up Shire Rd, I'm sure of it!

Reminds me of the rabbis in _A Serious Man_ (Coen brothers), except that their stories were somewhat opaque ;-)
